I would like to introduce myself, Tim Schneller owner of Timco Jewelers and Goldsmiths an independent jewelry store in Downtown Rutland. My interest in jewelry started when I was 12 with my first rock tumbler. A neighbor Mr Herber who made jewelry helped me learn how to hand polish opals and other stones and make settings in sterling silver. This hobby has turned out to be a exciting and fun way to make a living as a Goldsmith and Jeweler.

In 1971 I registered Timco Creations and have not stopped working with jewelry since. I have studied with the Gemological Institute of America and have worked with goldsmiths in Germany and with visiting goldsmiths in my store from Germany.

aboutIn 1975 I started doing all the repair work for Zales Jewelers for the next 9 years. I then opened my own store in the old Rutland Mall, expanded there and then moved to our present location in Downtown Rutland.

I purchased the 1890’s building on the corner of Center and Wales St., renovated it and designed the interior with custom cherry cases and woodwork to be an excellent showcase for my store. I have now been in downtown Rutland for over 30 years and my lifelong experience with jewelry and the relationships with my customers and friends have made Timco Jewelers and Goldsmiths a well respected Jewelry store in Rutland.

Timco Jewelers and Goldsmiths is a member of IJO -The Independent Jewelers Organization, as well as a member of Jewelers of America. As the owner of Timco Jewelers I am an active and respected member of our local community. One of my latest projects was to open The Timco Gallery in the adjacent building. The Gallery showcases area artists and will donate profits back to the local art community through schools programs.
